Monday, 24 June More photos... |
Great Western Terrier Association AKC Earthdog Test, Anaheim Hills CA
(Diane judging the Introduction to Quarry Test) RESULTS: Diane judged 30 dogs - 9 passed and she had a great time helping beginner dogs discover their earthdog instincts! |
Entered in the Senior Earthdog Test (looking for her first qualifying performance) RESULTS: Didn't qualify (she entered the wrong entrance) but worked the full 90 seconds and recalled before the judge had even started timing! |
Entered in the Master Earthdog Test (has two of the four "legs" (qualifying performances) required for his Master Earthdog title) -- RESULTS: Didn't qualify -- good hunting, but left the rats early (then went back and worked the full 90 seconds.) |
Tuesday, 25 June More photos... |
Great Western Terrier Association AKC Earthdog Test -- Day 2 (John judging the Introduction to Quarry Test); Agility class at Jump Start RESULTS: John judged 18 dogs - 2 passed. We were too tired to go to agility class. |
Entered in the Senior Earthdog Test RESULTS: Another good performance, except that she went in the same (wrong) entrance as on Monday and didn't qualify. |
Entered in the Master Earthdog Test RESULTS: Would have qualified except for a weak indication of the entrance. Judge complimented his hunting and working. |
Wednesday, 26 June | Rest and get ready for Agility | RESULTS: Chased a rabbit flushed by Remy, worked the rabbit's hiding place. Received a bath. | RESULTS: Flushed a rabbit on the hill across the street. Gave chase, following the trail nicely. Needed his bath even more than Brandy. |
Thursday, 27 June |
Shoreline Dog Fancier's AKC Agility Trial, San Juan Capistrano

Entered in Novice Standard trial (this will be her third standard run -- no passes yet...) RESULTS: A great crowd favorite, but finished 51 sec. over course time and knocked the double jump and broad jump.
|
Entered in Open Standard and Novice Jumpers with Weaves (it's his first open run; he needs one more leg for his Novice Jumpers title) RESULTS: Almost qualified in Open Standard (his first run at this level) but had two faults on the weave poles. In Novice Jumpers, Remy got distracted at the start and knocked a bar on the fourth jump (a disqualification). |
Friday, 28 June |
Another rest day (watch the video and get ready for Saturday) | We're 0-for-7 in ribbons for Doggie Fun Week so far -- we're keeping our fingers crossed for Saturday! And yes, we're having lots of fun! | |
Saturday, 29 June More agility photos |
Shoreline Dog Fancier's AKC Agility Trial, San Juan Capistrano CA | Entered in Novice Jumpers with Weaves (first time ever in Jumpers) RESULTS: Brandy had a very good first Jumpers run. She knocked two bars and had one refusal, but kept moving around the course and was only 19 sec. over course time. Very promising for when she moves to the 4" jump height in September!

Entered in Open Standard and Novice Jumpers with Weaves. Doggie Fun Week ends with a bang! Remy qualifies in Novice Jumpers with Weaves with a perfect score and 7 seconds under course time! He also gets a first place ribbon and his Novice Agility Jumpers (NAJ) title! In Open Standard, Remy had trouble with the weaves again, but had a good run. |
